Transplant Nutrition
Specialised diets for solid-organ and bone-marrow transplant patients — designed alongside transplant surgeons.
Nutrition is critical before and after a transplant — it protects the graft, lowers infection and rejection risk, and supports recovery. At Sehat+, Ambika Nair has set protocols and worked closely with transplant teams across kidney, liver, small bowel (intestine), heart and bone-marrow transplants — including her role on the team behind Asia's second small-bowel transplant at Jupiter Hospital.

Why Transplant Nutrition Is Specialised
Transplant patients have unique, rapidly changing nutritional needs — high protein demands for healing, strict food-safety requirements under immunosuppression, and careful management of electrolytes, blood sugar and fluid. A generic diet is not enough. Therapeutic transplant nutrition reduces complications, supports graft survival, and speeds recovery.
Our Experience
Ambika has worked with leading transplant surgeons to formulate and implement protocols for small-bowel, liver, kidney and heart transplants, with a strong track record of safe implementation and better outcomes. She was part of the nutrition team for Asia's second small-bowel (intestine) transplant — one of the most complex procedures in transplant medicine.
The Phases We Manage
From pre-transplant optimisation, through the immediate post-operative phase (often on enteral or tube feeds), to the transition back to an oral diet and long-term maintenance — each phase has its own protocol. We work in step with your surgical and ICU teams, adjusting for graft function, medications and recovery at every stage.
